The Department of Animal Husbandry & Fisheries in Chandigarh is seeking to hire 11 Veterinary Inspectors. As a Veterinary Inspector, your primary responsibilities will be to inspect animals, maintain their health and welfare, and ensure that they are in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting regular inspections of animals to assess their health and welfare
• Treating animals that are sick or injured, including administering medications and performing minor surgeries
• Monitoring the environment of the animals, including their living conditions, feed, and water
• Ensuring that all animal-related activities are in compliance with relevant regulations and standards
• Providing guidance and education to animal owners on proper care and treatment of animals
• Maintaining accurate records of animal health and welfare
• Participating in disease surveillance and control programs

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science or equivalent
• License to practice veterinary medicine in India
• Strong knowledge of animal health and welfare
• Experience in animal care and treatment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
