The Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) is conducting a walk-in interview to hire 10 Plant Health Clinic Assistants for the year 2023. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals interested in contributing to the field of plant health and agricultural development.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the operation and management of the Plant Health Clinic.
  2. Provide guidance and support to farmers and agricultural stakeholders regarding plant health issues, diseases, and pests.
  3. Conduct diagnostic assessments of plant samples to identify diseases, pests, and nutrient deficiencies.
  4. Collaborate with senior professionals and researchers to develop effective treatment and management strategies.
  5. Offer recommendations and advice on integrated pest management, crop protection, and sustainable agricultural practices.
  6. Maintain accurate records of diagnostic findings, treatment protocols, and follow-up actions.
  7. Conduct outreach programs and awareness campaigns to educate farmers and the community on plant health and best agricultural practices.
  8. Stay updated with the latest advancements in plant health management and agricultural technologies.
  9. Assist in organizing training programs, workshops, and seminars related to plant health and agricultural development.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Plant Pathology, Entomology, or a related field.
  2. Prior experience or knowledge in plant health management, disease diagnosis, and pest identification is preferred.
  3. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with farmers, stakeholders, and colleagues.
  4. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Proficiency in using basic computer applications and software for data management.
  6. Willingness to travel to different locations for field visits and outreach activities.
  7. Knowledge of local agriculture and farming practices would be an advantage.
