Responsibilities:
- Maintain law and order in assigned areas.
- Prevent and investigate crimes, including but not limited to theft, assault, and public disturbances.
- Conduct patrols and respond to emergency situations.
- Gather evidence, interview witnesses, and prepare reports for criminal investigations.
- Assist in traffic management and enforce road safety regulations.
- Ensure the safety and security of the public during public gatherings and events.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to coordinate efforts and exchange information.
- Provide assistance and support to victims of crime.
- Conduct surveillance and intelligence gathering activities.
- Stay updated with current laws, regulations, and police procedures.
Qualifications:
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a recognized university or institution.
- Age Limit: The minimum age limit is 20 years, and the maximum age limit is 28 years (age relaxations apply to reserved categories as per government rules).
- Physical Fitness: Candidates should meet the prescribed physical standards, including height, chest measurements, and endurance tests.
- Knowledge and Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to handle stressful situations, sound judgment, and knowledge of local laws and regulations.
Selection Process:
- Written Examination: Candidates will undergo a written examination to assess their knowledge of general awareness, reasoning, numerical ability, and other relevant subjects.
- Physical Measurement Test (PMT): Qualified candidates from the written examination will proceed to the PMT, which includes measurements of height, chest, and endurance tests.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who clear the PMT will undergo a PET, which consists of events like running, long jump, high jump, etc.
- Viva-Voce: Shortlisted candidates from the PET will be called for a viva-voce to evaluate their suitability for the position.
- Medical Examination: Finally, selected candidates will undergo a thorough medical examination to ensure they meet the required medical standards.
